Rain-ready yard in St. Johns

Portland rain turned this slope into a runoff channel every winter. We cut in a gravel infiltration path, planted natives with deep roots and rebuilt the lawn on the flat.

Three days. First storm after, the path did its job and the lawn stayed a lawn.
